After a nice dry drive down to Cornwall yesterday we arrived at the campsite. What then immediately happened ? It rains. Lots.
Typical really, although after raining all day and all last night the new tent has proved its worth and stayed nice and dry inside.
Not too worried about the rain though as we are off to the Eden Project today which is inside - plus its a celebration of food day.
There is going to be lots of eating. Lots.
For some reason I have always been fasicated with novelty salt and pepper shakers. These bad boys fill both the geek criteria and the novelty criterias !
Well after a great afternoon full of sunshine yesterday we thought we were onto a winner with today.
Sadly not though - its been foggy all day, the beach was so bad that you couldn’t see the sea until you were right down the front !
Still good waves and plenty of fun to he had !
This is my 3rd attempt at posting this, so hopefully 3’s a charm !
Firstly - happy one year work anniversary to me. Thus year has flown by and far exceed my expectations.
We just (this was the case this morning, its now 5pm !) arrived in Devon. Its suprisngly warm, been down to the beach and they have the best surf all week so tomorrows looking good.
Also check out the new tent (thanks Mum !) - we now have a nice lounge area, great for rainy days.
We were woken up early this morning with our tent nearly folding in on itself ! Since then the wind has gotten stronger and stronger !
It seems likely that there will be a big storm tonight, eek !
Had a great day in Cheddar Gorge though, the caves are beautiful. Off to Wookey Hole tomorrow.
After a crazy 2 weeks at work my first camping trip of the year couldn’t have come at a better time !
We have headed over to Wells, Sonerset. Plenty of doing nothing and maybe a visit to Wookey Hole !
Last weekend it was 3 good friends Birthday’s. To celebrate we had a jolly fun trip to Thorpe Park.
Now when I first went to Thorpe Park (about 15 years ago !) the best ride they had there was the log ride ! Boy that has changed.
Several good rides are there now that spin, dangle, rotate and thrust you to crazy speeds. All great fun…
…except the beast they call Stealth. This bad boy launches you 205ft in the air and 0-80mph in just over 2 seconds. Absolute madness.
After building up to it all day the time finally came, I thought I should go on it as giving it a miss may result in me regretting it later. The crazy acceleration is great, I enjoyed that part (think a plane taking off but 10 more extreme).
It’s the height that got me as I stupidly looked around near the top - I honestly think it has brought back my fear of heights.
Whiolst looking for some info I found this clip on youtube :
A few months ago I agreed to cycle round the Isle of Wight (30 miles, not the full 60) and thought that I had plenty of time to get ready.
Of course I did not remember and I was kindly reminded on Friday and asked if I still wanted to do it. I’ve been out on the bike, but not nearly as much as I should have but I thought why not !
So I am now off to catch the ferry over…I’ll try and post a few pics if the weather holds out…
